January 20, 2026 (5:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
Where do projects miss the realities of people’s everyday lives? And how can international cooperation or volunteering become truly collaborative, context-sensitive, and sustainable?
**Date and time: 20.01.2026, 5 - 7:30 CET online via Zoom**
In this workshop, we will draw on your experiences to create a set of **guiding questions that help adapt engagement and project work to local cultures, contexts, and needs**. Our workshop facilitator Ruth Berhe grew up in Ethiopia and now lives with her family in an ecovillage in Portugal. As a Third Culture Child, she moves between cultures and connects themes of global justice, North–South dialogue, identity, and sustainability in her work as an educator, permaculture designer, and doula.
**Whether you want to reflect on your volunteering experience or work in international projects – your perspective is welcome, from both South–North and North–South contexts.** Our workshop facilitator speaks English and German. **The workshop will be held in English.** If you understand English but prefer to express yourself in German, you are very welcome.
